North Wales Day 2 - Tryfan

The challenge for today was to tackle the 3010ft classic Welsh Mountain, Tryfan. We were greeted by some local Welsh ponies in the morning and the weather looked promising, a little cloud cover and not too hot. After a breakfast of cereal followed by bacon rolls, we got our kit together and headed out to the minibus ready to complete a day on the iconic mountain. Tryfan is a grade 1 scramble and we tackled it via the north ridge, to summit in good time thanks to the group having the nimbleness and confidence of mountain goats, slowed down only by the lack of agility of the adult staff. Once at the summit, we paused for photos and headed down via the south ridge which consisted of a scramble down. The teamwork and communication skills displayed by the pupils was exemplary. Once off the mountain, we walked back to the accommodation, via the ice cream shop for a well-earned treat. Bangers and mash for dinner followed by some chill out time watching the Belgium vs France game. Overall a great day was had by all.
